Joanna "JoJo" Levesque

Jojo kommt aus einem Vorort von Boston, Massachusetts. Sie bewohnte mit ihrer Mutter, einer Kirchensängerin, ein Ein-Zimmer-Appartment. Schon in ihrer Kindheit interpredierte sie Kinderlieder in jazziger Form.

Ihren ersten öffentlichen Auftritt hatte sie in "Kids Say The Darndest Things On The Road In Boston". Bill Cosby fordert JoJo auf ein Lied zu singen, mit Aretha Franklins "Respect" beeindruckte sie das Publikum dermaßen, dass weiter Auftritte folgten - "Oprah Winfrey Show2, McDonald´s 2001 Gospelfest, Nationalhymne beim NBA-Spiel der Boston Celtics und ein Parteitag der Republikaner.

In der TV-Show "America´s Most Talented Kids" lernte sie den Produzenten Vincent Herbert kennen und bekommt einen Vertrag bei Background Records.
